Spring and olives time in Sa Cova

The coldest and shortest days left behind, March and April offer perfect outdoor conditions to enjoy the Serra de Tramuntana or simply visit the lovely villages in the center of the Island.
At Sa Cova the days start to be warm but the nights remain fresh, making the chimneys still smoke for a few more months. Easter with its typical traditions is also a must in Can Salas, with the full trays of Easter cakes and delicatessen fitting perfectly into the huge oven. Combining carnival with a ‘’calçotada” is also a good mix for your stay at Sa Cova during this season.
However, the highlight of the season falls in October, when our olives are ripe and our yearly production of virgin olive oil takes place.

Perfect outdoor weather

Spring months are perfect for outdoor activities and travelling around the island.

Easter time

Celebrating the Easter week at Finca Can Salas gives the celebration another meaning. Moreover, the typical Easter dishes do taste completely different there.

The ’’Sa Cova Sunset Season’’ begins

After some months setting behind the hills, the sun is now yearning for an evening sea-bath, offering us the famous sunsets of Sa Cova.

The first swim for the fearless

With ever warmer and sunnier days, the desire to swim becomes almost unbearable when strolling by the peaceful sea on an April day. Don’t think about it for too long or you won’t dip in.

Olive harvest time

October is usually the olive harvest time at Finca Can Salas. A job only for patient people who enjoy working in company to obtain a product which always compensates the efforts.

Olive oil and “Olives Pansides”

Shortly after harvest, the olives will be pressed into the ‘‘golden liquid of the Mediterranean’’. The ‘’olivapansida’’ is also now prepared and will be ready to be enjoyed after a few weeks.
